Acting as the physical hands and feet of Christ, guided by the Corporal Works of Mercy and the Christian concept of subsidiarity, this commission is tasked to discern and act on God’s call to the parish in fulfilling the human needs of those within our parish, community, diocese, and world. Ministries and activities include:

Volunteers meet weekly to assemble the parish bulletin.

Many volunteers are responsible for the great success of the annual parish bake sale held in December. Help in baking, organizing/pricing trays, cooking soup or working as a cashier.

Meets one time per year in April to plan for cleanup and manage finances.

One St. John's Cemetery clean-up is held each year in mid-May, prior to Memorial Day, and includes fixing graves that have settled, tree trimming and road repairs. A second occurs shortly after Memorial Day to pick up any remaining debris.

Dinner for Eight is a ministry / social opportunity that provides a fun way to meet small groups of fellow parishioners while getting to know each other over a good meal and conversation.

Assist in helping to serve funeral dinners or add your name to a list to be called to make a salad or dessert for the funeral.

This parish event, held annually on the 4th Saturday in August, requires everyone's help to ensure a fun and successful time for all. We need volunteers to help plan and organize, chair games and other activities, and coordinate with businesses for donated items.

Volunteers (individuals or families) will be paired with a homebound parishioner living in a care facility or in their own home. Suggested frequency of visits is 1-2 times per month.

This ministry serves families who are going through the loss of a child at any stage of pregnancy or infancy. Means of support can include meals, prayer chains, care packages, and burial, depending on the needs of each individual family.

A Catholic fraternal men's organization, the Knights of Columbus are dedicated to supporting our Church, our Holy Father, Bishops, Priests, families and community. They usually meet the second Wednesday of the month at the K of C hall.

All women, upon graduating from high school, automatically become members of the Ladies Guild. We welcome you all, and we ask you to help make our parish functions a success. Meetings are in April and September.

Provide meals to our priests as well as families in our parish who could use a little extra help.

This ministry strives to build up, support, and encourage women in their vocation of motherhood. Join us in various social and spiritual events throughout the year that seek to provide community and connection for mothers-to-be, grandmothers, and everyone in between.

Members plan ways to welcome new parishioners to the parish and inform them of the wide variety of opportunities available to them for getting involved in our parish life.

Help the parish office staff with general clerical work and special projects as needed.

Volunteers are needed to make lap quilts (40” x 50”) that are requested and given to a person who is experiencing a serious medical and/or emotional crisis.

The Pro-Life Ministry at St. John’s strives to mobilize parishioners to get involved in building a culture of life through means of prayer, action, and education.

Join others in brainstorming, planning and coordinating social activities for our parish designed to foster hospitality and encourage fellowship and a sense of community among members.
