Holy Orders
Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time. With the laying on of the Bishop’s hands and prayer, men become priests by the Sacrament of Holy Orders. Through this sacrament Christ changes the man internally, giving him the powers of the priesthood. It includes three different degrees: deacon, priest, and bishop.
